Apparently shooting off rockets to scare their neighbors isn't enough for Iran. They invaded Iraq's territory to occupy, for at least a little while, a disputed oil field that is supposed to be share by the two countries. There were soldiers from Iraq in the area but they put up no resistance. Now I don't know who really has the legal right to the land involved but it's pretty clear that no body from Iraq cared enough to try to hold on to it. Without the American presence I believe Iraq and Iran will go back to fighting in their typical way. I'm not saying they don't have ANY brave people but their Armies don't seem particularly brave. They remind me of my boys when they were younger. A lot of yelling, a bit of shoving and invading each others closets and toy boxes, but no real organized conquests. Unless we are prepared to stay in the area Iraq and Afghanistan are lost causes. Their people just are tribal in nature rather than being loyal to their country. And why not? The whole area was carved up, by the West, into artificial countries which tried to combine tribes that just don't like each other. Some day we may learn to study the situation before we act. But this one was mainly Great Britain's fault. For once, not ours!

To be perfectly honest, I don't give a rat's rump what those people do to each other as long as they keep it over there.

Yep, if we get out and leave them alone they will revert to killing each other and quit trying to kill us. When we get intelligence that there is a terror training camp, we can take it out with drones or missles. Let them kill each other off.

Amen, Ken, and then we can nuke the survivors if they give us any crap.

Jerry, I hope you knew I was kidding. I DO NOT support a bunch of tribal people with a nutty religion....a.k.a. CULT! Mohammad was a thug and a murderer, not a religious leader. The so called religion is all about control and power.

Speaking of cheeseburgers, that's what I'd really like for Xmas dinner. No not the junk kind you get at the fast food places. I mean a real Angus burger with melted, sharp, cheddar cheese. Then a nice slice of pumpkin pie for desert. For me that would hit the spot. Too much turkey at this time of the year.

Turkey reminds me of rancid chicken.

Well, it looks as if our little gathering (3 old maids) this Xmas will be serving M.J.'s wonderful White Chili. It's good and it isn't turkey. We've been getting together for quite a few years now and have a relaxing day watching a good movie, exchanging small gifts, and having a yummy meal. I think I'll bring some of that cheddar cheese to sprinkle on top of the chili. I'm having cheese with drawl since I discovered my LDL was a little high. I'm absolutely craving the stuff.
