Well, Harry Reid has his 60 votes because the Senator from Nebraska caved in to party politics. He had a chance to be a statesman but instead chose to be a politician. Very sad!
Heaven only knows how much this very bad bill will cost the United States when it becomes law. Because make no mistake, the President and the Democraps won't let it not become law; even though right now all the polls say the American people do not support the bill by 59%. Only 34% support it with 9% undecided.

I haven't quite got the jist of what happened but from the Republican response it appears that Nebraska and I think, Virginia were given exemptions from paying into healthcare. Ben Nelson, by the way is from Nebraska. Nelson was insisting that the bill would disallow the government paying for abortions and some language was supposed to be added to the bill to do that. However, the Republican response insists that the government WILL pay for abortions which one Senator said would open the door to a lawsuit because it violates Roe v Wade. Tommy

Yup Tommy, I heard that his price was that his state, Nebraska, wouldn't have to pay for the increase in Medicade.....forever. You know, if I were from Nebraska I'd write him a real angry letter telling him that I didn't appreciate him insulting the integrity of the residents of Nebraska. That unlike him, Nebraskans don't want to be bought. How insulting! I suppose he thinks the folks back home should be grateful.

Today even CNN reported that Nelson had been bought and that his stand wasn't so much about abortion as getting a sweet deal for his state. They said he was playing the Price Is Right Game.
I'm more and more thinking that we do need to just clean house in Washington. The Democrats are forcing a bill through that should be studied and not rushed. The Republicans are mouthing off as if they were the pure ones. The President rushes to a bogus conference to beg the Chinese to sign on to this climate control hoax.
They are all a disgrace and no more interested in the people and this country than my dog is interested in quantum physics.

All I can say is if Republicans were doing all this, there would be an uproar. Even people who tell us they don't follow politics would be screaming bloody murder. This whole thing is nothing but a farce and insult to people that can think for themselves and don't need a handout everytime they turn around!!!!!!!!!!!
