It's a great feeling when some small thing you've created is used for the benefit of others. Today I was in Odenville Library reading a newspaper when a lady and young boy walked up to me and said,"The lady at the desk said you wrote this..." She was holding a printout of one of my SCCAL Driving Dixie stories that her son would be using in research for a school project about Janney Furnace. We discussed it a while, and I showed them how to access Photobucket for more pictures.
Such things make all the work, time and expense worthwhile. A special thanks to Mark Martin for giving me a place and a reason to develop that series, and others.

Jerry, that is great. Just think of all those people who've read your stories and enjoyed them that you didn't get to meet....I imagine there's a lot more out there than you could possibly dream of. Tommy

I think so too Tommy, we never know whose lives we touch by our written words and/or actions.

I know that the kids think it's great! Mason is reading an autobiography of Mark Twain right now and he said reading it reminds him of reading Time Machine. Thats pretty awesome, if you ask me! (He's not saying you are as old as Twain, ya know)

Bless his heart. And his Mom's, too. It's a long way from Pell City to Tuscaloosa; I'm glad to be there at least in some form.

I appreciate all the kind words but, to be fair, Life writes this stuff. All I do is take notes.

Most don't take notes, though, Jer, nor do they remember the details. You have a way of putting the reader right smack dab in the middle of the story.

Jerry, I have told you before how much I appreciate your articles. You have made me think, made me remember and made me dream. Quite an accomplishment for a page of words. You have a fantastic memory and the skill to put words together in a manner that is both entertaining and interesting. Please continue and you will always have at least one devoted reader. Thank you!

And thank you, Duke. Here's hoping my memory will hold out long enough to finish the download.
