Kwanza is doomed to fail because it takes seven days to do it right, with no allowance for a weekend of drunken stupor. Heck, these people don't even take care of their own cemeteries.

Hey Jerry, celebrating for many days isn't all bad. Hanukkah lasts 8 days. Believe me, we get it right. ;D It's guaranteed to put 10 lbs on you. And then if you count that my family also celebrated Christmas for the Christians in the family.....well, just call us tubby.

A lot of Jews celebrate Christmas, particularly those who own department stores; bless their hearts. ;D

A lot of Jews celebrate Christmas, particularly those who own department stores; bless their hearts. ;D In college, I took a special course called, "Money,Money,Money" which is one of the best courses I ever took. In it the teacher was describing most economists understanding of how the market works and how it involved volumes of financial equations. However, Jewish kids understood the entire process of making money and their equation could be written on the back of a postage stamp. He wasn't cutting down the Jewish community. He was doing just the opposite by explaining how simple but effective the Jewish people's philosophy on economics was. Tommy

Like it or not, stereotypes are usually valid, and it makes sense when we consider how such things evolve.
It's not that being German makes one more methodical and technically expert. Most likely, those with such characteristics tended to accumulate in Germany, where such things are more appreciated. Similarly, people who are fluent in business found a better environment among the Jewish people, regardless of their own ethnic roots.
Dare we touch upon the Inner City folks? That culture exists because blacks are more likely to be comfortable living like that.
Naturally, not all blacks, Germans or Jews march to the same drummer; those who don't tend to move somewhere else or take up with others who are more like themselves. Net result, we have ethnic groups who mostly breed true.

David and I read several books on different holiday traditions, including kwanza and Hanukkah. He had lost of questions about Hanukkah, but kwanza didn't seem to make a lot of sense and he was just trying to hurry up and get it over with. David wishes he was Jewish so he could gets gifts for 8 days...lol We used to spend time with some real mexicans that were very traditional. We met them while I was working at Holy Spirit Catholic school. He wanted to be Mexican after going to their birthday parties!
