What are your plans for tonight? Have you made any "resolutions"? I'm having a houseful of pretteen boys over, with a few parents. We will play board games while the kids fight over video games, and pig out until midnight. At midnight David is treating us to $44 worth of fireworks from his hard earned money. At some point the parents will go home, leaving their wired up youngsters with me. I'm sure their goal is the same as it is every year, to stay up til sunrise!!! (This is a tradition) Tomorrow ----I SLEEP--- ;D

Happy New Year to you and your family. I am making no New Year's resolutions and I am staying home tonight. They are predicting wet snow with the rain and I want to be safe at home on a nasty night like this one. My daughter, her family and I usually go to Top of the River in Gadsden on New Years eve, but they are going to STIX which is near their home. I told her I will stay home. I am not even going to church for the Family Lord's Table with my family. I have a hard time seeing at night and it's even worse when it's raining and snowing. Hope you all have a safe and Happy New Year.

I'll sleep through the whole thing and hope some silly b----rd doesn't wake me up with fireworks. Thirty years ago, I would have been that silly b----rd.

My plans are pretty much on the order of Jerry and Gloria. Although with my old lady insomnia I might watch the ball fall in NYC, depends on my sleep cycle. ;D

Our band will be playing at "the Barn" which has become a regular event in Prescott. They will probably shoot off fireworks at midnight. I know this is a late notice but everybody is welcome to come...it's open to the public. There will be free food and music. It's right across the street from the Alabama Sherriff's Boy's Ranch. for more info you can call us at 338-2574 up until about 4:00pm and then on our cell at 405-8000 or 405-7999. Tommy

We should have planned an all night card party. Wonder how long we could have stayed awake. ;D

I'm like a few others on this board, I'll stay right here at the house. I had to visit my doctor this morning and he asked if I was going out to party. Told him I stay home and let the drunks have the roads. Besides that I can't see that well at night to drive anymore. Also when I take my medicine I have to stay out of the car and close to the couch. May all of you have a Dixie new year.....

I took a short bike ride today, and found the grocery stores and liquor stores swamped with poor planners.
I'll be glad when all this pagan revelry is over so people will start behaving rationally again and businesses will be open all week. Sometimes I just want to hibernate from November to January.

My husband and I are once again celebrating with our New Year's tradition of many decades. We'll stay up till about 9:30 or 10:00 and go to bed, then wake up at five a.m. to a new year. Works every time.
Do notice the blue moon before you drift off though. I know it's not supposed to be really blue, just the second full moon of the month. But it does look blue tonight.
I hope everybody out driving gets home safely tonight.

The 'kitchen staff' is in bed and it is 10:30 PST. I'm heading there shortly. Been a long week at work with early starts and late finishes. I'm so tired!
