Larry, your point is a valid one however Glenn and others are being bashed about the head and shoulders by this administration whether he joins the "birther" movement or not. Plus nobody is asking Glenn to give an opinion on whether he thinks Obama is legal or not. He can do the Lou Dobbs thing and say "I believe Obama is a legal citizen, but I do believe he should release a copy of his birth certificate". They are just asking, or now demanding that he report on the facts and let the people decide. There are hundreds of factual events that most people have never seen or heard of. It is a fact that Obama was a British citizen...he even admits that in his own book. Many constitutional scholars insist that alone disqualifies anybody from becoming POTUS. Glenn could very easily invite attorneys on to debate the issue. It is a fact that Obama, attended school in Indonesia under the name of Barry Soetoro. His school records clearly show he was registered as an Indonesian citizen. Why has that been ignored? I could go on for hours about facts that are not being reported concerning Obama's citizenship. I wonder if there will be any mention of Senator Deal of Georgia sending a letter to Obama asking for his proof of citizenship? www.thepostemail.com/2010/01/05/deal-challenges-obamas-eligibility/

I really agree with you Tommy--I do think questioning the president about his birth place is valid, and should have been pushed big time by the Republican party 2 years ago.
As to Chris' reference to George Washington--my comparison is that the attack on healthcare or immigration or the fight on terrorism or the birth certificate thing are all valid battles to be fought, but when you have limited resources you do have to pick your battles--had Washington attacked the British Army in New York instead of crossing the Delaware and fighting the Hessians, he most likely would have been defeated--only after the success of Trenton did his army size increase, and thus his ability to broaden the war. Same thing here--defeat healthcare, and then take on a second front.

Larry, I see your point. It would be a better thing to attack healthcare if the odds of winning were at least 50/50. But I'm afraid that it is a losing battle. Not that we shouldn't fight that battle, but I believe that Congress is going to pass something. It may not be what they want but it will be something so Obama can claim victory. And certainly there are MANY things WE THE PEOPLE need to get involved in. But I believe that we have a very real and good chance of showing that Obama isn't a legal President. Prove that and the whole house of cards comes tumbling down. When a sitting member of Congress writes to the President and says that he wants proof that the man is a legal President...well that shows that there are many people who just don't believe that this man named Obama is for real. The Democrats think the issue is dead and buried. Gone forever. But the fact is that this issue is far from dead. It can come roaring back to life, and roaring back to life with a momentum that just won't be stopped. Obama's ratings are down. We just had another terrorist try to attack us and our President had to admit that we failed in our security. I believe NOW is the time to pound him with the issue. NOW is the time for the attack. We have enough resources to pay attention to all of the nonsense. We have to do just what the Democrats have been trying to do to the American people. Create SO many charges against our officials in Washington that they won't be able to push their illegal, and unwanted agendas. BTW, you were right about old George. He attacked at the right time and the right place. The miracle was that, HE WON! It could have all gone down the drain so easily. But it didn't. Makes you believe that God was on his side, doesn't it?

Makes you believe that God was on his side, doesn't it? I listened to Fox news this morning, and whoever the senator was from the left kept trotting out the line "if Bush hadn't taken his eye off of the ball by attacking Iraq, we'd have a handle on this thing." Bullcrap, says I. The increase in incidents, in my opinion, is linked to the spineless nature of the current administrations policies on the war on terror--in a nutshell, in 12 months, we have moved to close down Gitmo, and move the prisoners into US prisons, we have allowed Miranda rights to be expanded to inlcude enemy combatants, up to and including the recent underwear bomber, thus shutting down any chance of getting solid intel from him, we have banned the use of the term war on terror, we have bowed and scraped to the Muslim world, and as each new incident occurs we make it a point to say its an isolated incident and not part of some larger scheme (the Ft Hood bobmer, for instance, was distraught from dealin with all those Iraq veterans.) We haven't just let the camel's nose under the tent, we have let him in to crap on our rug.
