since nothing else is going on today I thought I'd post an update on my wind turbine project. Here's a shot of the mold for the top and bottom of the turbine. The fins will be embedded in the fiberglass. I painted three coats of spar varnish on the wood mold and then I will put several coats of Carnuba wax on it to act as a release for the fiberglass. I lined my mold with clear plastic and filled it with water to determine exactly how much fiberglass resin I would need plus to check just how level my contraption is. It's now ready to place the fins in place and pour to top and then turn it over and pour the bottom. Attachments:

A great device. I know the inventer and wouldn't you know that we have very little wind here at Wagging Tails Cottage. Too much shade for photovoltaic. So I guess I'll have to teach the dogs to trot on a treadmill to charge batteries. ;D

You certainly have a sufficient hot air supply for thermoelectric generation. And I hear equine farts can be burned for fuel, but collection and storage could be a problem.

Yes, we here at Wagging Tails Cottage are the neighborhood's major air polluter!
