It seems as if everyone wants to blame the Republicans for "going over the cliff". I want to know why. It's not the Republicans who want to borrow yet MORE money to waste on things that don't get the economy humming again. How much money did the Democraps waste the last time around on "green" jobs and companies and did NOTHING for anyone but Obama's buddies? It's not the Republican who are refusing to reign in spending. It's not the Republicans who want to kick the can down the road to someday in the future doing something about cutting a lot of unnecessary bureaucratic spending while raising taxes ON EVERYONE right now. It's quite simple. We DON'T have a funding emergency. We have a SPENDING emergency. And it's the Democraps who want to increase spending when we should be carefully considering just what is necessary and what can be cut. BUT as usual. The Republicans aren't giving a good account of themselves. All people hear is that the Republicans want to protect the rich. Where are their good speakers who will stand up and tell it like it is? Obama may have won the election. Perhaps stole is a better word. But there is NO reason to let him stand up there and lie to the American people without someone standing up and calling him a liar.

Just read an article where it's claimed that more and more people want Obama to tax the rich and leave the rest of us alone. It just confirms my opinion that there are a LOT of selfish, ignorant people in this country. We are acting like the French when they started cutting off the heads of the rich in their country in the mistaken belief that such would cure all of their problems. Of course it didn't. They killed a whole bunch of people and all they accomplished was to spill a lot of blood. Their financial problems were even worse than before they started all of the blood letting. We could take everything that anyone who has a total wealth of $250,000 has and it wouldn't cure our financial blues. Making the wealthy the bad guy is both stupid and nonproductive. Anyone on here ever get a job from a poor person on welfare? No, didn't think so. Obama is just encouraging people to kill the goose that laid the golden egg. He's a jerk! And those who follow him are idiots!

Yea j.b., while the rest of us have to figure out if we can afford a Christmas ham or turkey this jerk takes off for the Sandwich Islands. He's such a disgrace to our country and the office of the President.

The Republicans are finally getting a little moxie and telling it like it is. That is that the President is the one holding up solving our fiscal problems. While Obama lies to the people about the Republicans being the bad guys who only want to protect the rich, it is clear to THINKING Americans that it is he who is the stubborn ideologue who will NOT negotiate and who really does NOT have the interest of the country and it's citizens at heart.
What will it take before even those who don't pay much attention to what is going on, realize that we have an A number one ENEMY of America in the White House? From "Moochelle" saying things such as, "I'm finally proud of America......." (commenting on the fact that her husband was nominated in 2008) to Obama taking off all of his jewelry to observe the customs of Ramadan, to our President canceling a long tradition of the prayer breakfast, and the Obama family taking extravagant vacations when the country has dire financial problems. These actions speak so loud and clear. Yet the lame stream media gives this man pass after pass that President Bush would have been called on.
It is clear that we must keep speaking out on the Internet and letting people know just what is going on. I have faith that we WILL turn things around. But it is going to take a lot of effort on our part. We can't be lazy. We can't let our government run on auto pilot. We can't let those in power have carte blanche. And we MUST try to educate our Liberal friends; not by bashing them over the head with facts. For no one ever won someone to their side by being obnoxious. But we can just give them a tiny bit of true information that plants the seed of doubt in their mind as to whether the full on liberal way is what will bring us all to prosperity.

I would like to take Boehner, Reid, & Obama and knock their heads together. Then I'd send them to the time out corner until they got it into their heads that they are NOT there to advance their party's agendas, and they are NOT there to advance their personal agenda. They are there to help the country run in a responsible manner which is advantageous to the majority of the citizens. So far they have been doing a LOUSY job of it and I'm ticked, big time. I'd love to send them all back where they came from and start with some new folks at the helm!

No, I'm not naive......they are jerks. I know full well that they don't give a damn about us. But that is NO reason for me (and everyone else) not to call them on it. Maybe if the people of the U.S. got angry and started raising hell, instead of sitting on their duffs watching some stupid T.V. program, our government would change. For sure nothing is going to be done if the people don't care.

You're preaching to the choir, Chris. They're the ones who need to hear it. So how do you plan to do that? I doubt seriously if they read this site, and you know what happens to letters and emails. For any of this to count, you 've got to become somebody important enough that they have to listen.

Unfortunately I don't think that's going to happen any time soon. But you know, people do talk to one another about things that they see and read. So who know who will eventually start making a fuss just because someone said something. I mean look at all of the idiots who start things like camping out in parks and making a fuss about banks. I don't think they were right but they did get some attention. If nothing else it lets me blow off steam.
