Charles Darwin couldn't have said it better.

And they grow up and vote. So now we get "free" pones and higher taxes. They just don't get the concept of killing the goose that laid the golden egg. The more "free" stuff they get the closer they get to making the once prosperous people less prosperous, and therefore the less "free" stuff will be available. And even when they are getting nothing, they will probably still blame it on the "evil" rich people who aren't paying their fair share. As the saying goes: YOU CAN'T CURE STUPID!

One thing they're NOT is stupid. As I've said many times before, they know exactly what's happening and are playing it all the way. When the economy folds, they know we will always find some other way to provide for them. After all, it's our Christian duty.

I still refer to them as stupid....it doesn't take intelligence to keep coming back to the trough that keeps getting filled up. However, if something ever happened to that trough they wouldn't have a clue how to feed themselves...they would starve to death.

Again I say, they've always been able to depend on others. There's no reason for them to doubt that will ever change. Trust me; there will be no famine in the foreseeable future because there are too many resources that can always be re-routed, and always some Democraps to route them in favor of their constituents. We may lose everything else worth having, but our parasites will always be fed, treated and paid. That's why the Democraps will rule for decades to come, even though an occasional "other" might get elected.

Sounds much like what the people loyal to King George said back in the day. Didn't give the revolution much of a chance. And I must admit, the smart money was on them. I wonder how our Founding Fathers did pull that one off. By everything that was logical they should have been pounded into the dust. But here we are.....much in need of some more "refounding fathers" so we can pull off another miracle and get this country back on track. I think the minority back in 1776 prayed a lot. And after reading all of the history I have about our Revolution, I've got to say that prayer must have played a BIG part in our victory. Perhaps it might not be a bad thing to do now days. And BTW Jerry, you don't have to believe that organized religion is a good thing in order to have some conversation with the Almighty. Heaven knows we could stand some divine intervention with what we're up against in Washington!

If you REALLY dig into history as opposed to the stuff that's always been handed down to us, you'll find that England already had their hands full at the time elsewhere or they would have made toast out of the Sons of Liberty. Further, every writer of the Constitution stood to gain by its wording. Neither the Declaration nor the Constitution were sacred documents handed down to us from On High. They were penned to suit those times and the purposes of those involved, however cloaked in righteousness they appear in history books. Any good tale swells with the telling. You've seen a fine example of this in how World War 2 and the Civil War are barely mentioned in schools today, while the Holocaust has been worked to death because it suits present day thinking, not to mention special interests.

And England having their "hands full" and France coming to our aid has nothing to do with the mercy of God? You say the holocaust has been "done to death". How in the world can a awful thing such as the holocaust be taught too much? My goodness Jerry. It killed not only Jews but the mentally retarded, priests & ministers who preached against it, gypsies, foreigners who the Germans considered inferior. The list goes on and on. While I don't say that other things in history shouldn't be taught too, I can't understand your attitude. Do you think the Germans were right to kill those people? Do you think that the holocaust was just a myth? Or do you think that injustice should just be forgotten? As far as the Constitution not being a well thought out document. Well, let us say that I disagree with that completely.

Of course not, Chris, but that was only a part of the war. And I don't understand your "mercy of God" comment at all, but please don't bother to explain it.

I don't think I could explain it to you Jerry. But I firmly believe that our winning the war against England was due, in part, to the mercy of our creator, which He shows us from time to time.
There is an old Jewish saying; As a door implies a carpenter, so a universe implies a Creator.
Believing that God does answer our prayers doesn't have anything to do with organized religion.
Of course, the beauty of America is that you have the freedom to not believe this. And every right to say so whenever you wish. And I support you in that right.
