The present Pope is 85, weak, and in only so, so health. Pictures of him show a very old man who should be taking it easy. Surprisingly, but wisely this Pope is stepping down. It's the first time in 600 years that a Pope hasn't died in office. Perhaps the college of cardinals will elect someone who is a bit younger, going into the job. Perhaps someone who can modernize the Church a wee bit. He might even allow the clergy to be married again. It was allowed in the early Church. And it might step up the number of men studying to become priests as well as keeping out some of the weird gays and pedophiles who have given the Catholic Church such awful scandals in the recent years.

Yep, and Islam hates him. The probable replacement from Italy heads a group to smooth Catholic/Islamic relations. Just coincidence I suppose.
