Today in Texas a whole bunch of people were stabbed on a school campus. Lots of people, not just one or two. But do we hear people gathering together to demand that we have background checks for people wanting to buy a kitchen knife at Walmart? What about a law to regulate the length of the blade? I mean, wouldn't a short blade on ALL knives limit the possibility that someone would be killed when they are stabbed? And searches? Shouldn't the police have the right to come into your home if you've been in jail or a mental institution. After all, you folks should only be allowed butter knives. Next there will be candlelight gatherings of people singing, and mourning for people they don't even know. Bleeding hearts will be crying, something has got to be done to prevent this terrible thing from happening again. Something could have been done if people carried guns. The idiots could have been shot right then and there. Problem solved. But instead we'll be treated to weeping parents and neighbors decrying the stupidity of knives. We'll have to show our I.D.'s to get a plastic knife in a fast food restaurant. But not to worry, we'll still be allowed to vote without an I.D. Is anybody besides me asking, what's wrong with this picture?

It's okay as long as they're not assault knives.

Right Jerry ;D
But on the serious side, isn't any weapon (from guns to hammers) an assault weapon when it's used to attack someone? And on the other hand, aren't weapons just objects as long as they are NOT being used to attack someone? The knife in my kitchen, the gun in my drawer are just things that can't do anything, bad or good, without a person. So I say that it's people who are the problem, not weapons. And right now there are loads of problems called politicians that we need to get rid of.

Just like when somebody deliberately runs into people with a vehicle; they call it an assault with a deadly weapon.
