Yesterday a British soldier was hacked to death in broad daylight. His murderers? MUSLIMS. Of course since people in England can't carry weapons (even off duty soldiers) the poor man couldn't defend himself. For years I've had a disagreement with a friend, who is English, that keeping people from being armed only encourages bad guys who haven't any respect for law and order. I've also said (many times) that our respective countries are absolutely nuts to allow ANY Muslims to come to our countries as either visitors or legal residents. What does it take to convince people that Islam's goal is to take over the world and enslave or kill all "infidels"? Let them kill each other back in their home lands. Don't take them in to our homeland. We are under NO obligation to do so. Furthermore, we are STUPID to do so!

Jerry always brings up the Crusades when he points out that Christians have been violent too. But after seeing and experiencing what the Muslims are doing now days, one can perhaps understand why the Crusaders went off to the Holy Lands to throw the bums out. After all, it was the Muslims who invaded the Christians in that area and started the wars. Must say I'd like to start a few Crusades here in the U.S. and throw the idiots out. There are so many wonderful, interesting things to do in this world to have to put up with idiots. To quote an old sage, "Nuke the......

I bring up the Crusades for the same reason you bring up Hitler and the Nazis; because it fits and there never seems to be a time limit for citing atrocities. As for throwing the bums out of the Holy Land, what business was that of Europeans anyway? It was just another excuse to take their minds off internal problems at home, make war, and bring home plunder, all with the blessing of the Church.

WOW you generalize Sir. There were many Europeans in the Holy Land. And it had been populated by Christians for a long time before the Muslims decided that they'd go a waring. No doubt there was much corruption all around the world (as there always has been) And the Catholic Church was MUCH too involved in politics. I'm glad they toned it down quite a bit since then. And that's my point in a nut shell. Most religions have learned to concern themselves with matters of faith, and condemn the burning of witches, and the like. The Muslims? Not so much. They still want to rule everybody. (mostly by violence) And I find their so called religion just a nutty cult.

Chris, I have no regard for the Europeans who were in the unHoly Land in those days before the Crusades. They knew the risk, and chose to be there doing business anyway instead of back home where they belonged. We continue to make the same mistakes today. We go overseas, violate their ways of life, then scream bloody murder when they get tired of it and react accordingly. Unless another country or region becomes a clear and present danger to our own way of life (Hitler, for instance), we have no gripe with what they choose to do in their own land. In the end, it's always about business, and cash flow. Dogma is just an excuse, and a damn handy one. Once people are convinced their god is on their side, there's no end to it.

No doubt that same hell is full of popes, too, if there's any truth in history.

If there really is a hell, I'm sure all walks of life are fully represented. As far as Father Rosiea saying that the Pope is wrong well, I just wonder where the good Padre will be serving next. I doubt if he will stay in the Vatican very long. The Catholic church does NOT teach that only Catholics go to heaven. Rosiea is part of that group of clerics who try to scare people into joining their religion and doing as they are told rather than thinking for themselves. He has MUCH in common with the Muslims!
PS The Catholic church teaches that the Pope is infallible in matters of faith and morals....not everything. However, this subject would seem to come under being infallible.
