It's all over the news. A young man revealed how we are collecting information here in the U.S. The government is saying they are thinking of prosecuting him. Ridiculous! This information, including the construction of huge buildings in Nevada to store the collected information has been all over the Internet for over a year. How can it still be termed, revealing a secret? The only difference is that now it's not "nutters" who are just making up stories about conspiracies who are talking about these things. People are finding out it's all true. And all of a sudden they are concerned about things they said were ridiculous, impossible, stupid to believe, etc. And if people really think our enemies didn't know about all of these things, they are VERY naive. It's incredible how stupid the general public can be! BTW, that goes for the news networks too. If this young man should be prosecuted, then Jane's should look out too because they tell all, about everyone, all of the time.

Disclosing Top Secrete documents will get you in trouble... Exposing Obamas machine will make your life miserable. I don't think we have heard the extent that we are being spied on. Gotta go, helicopters overhead, again.

I used to think our former ambassador to the UN, John Bolton, had a good deal of common sense. But I'm beginning to wonder. He's accusing Snowden of being a traitor. Like so many in the news media, he wants to make this about the leaker instead of what illegal and immoral things our government is doing. Folks don't be sidetracked. It's not about Snowden. It's about the police state we are becoming!

BTW, we saw a wreck the other day on I-20...there was a homeland security SUV on the scene....saw another one the next day. Now I understand that they will be doing traffic stops and asking to take DNA and blood samples....what the hell is going on?

Tommy, I've called the sheriff's office and a Lt. there is supposed to be getting back to me on that subject. Our mutual friend has recorded the local news on that subject. You can call her if you wish.

Not to worry, Tommy; all they want to know is what we eat, what we drink, and whom our mothers slept with before we were born.

A very nice Lt. in the Sheriff's office returned my call and told me what was going on. What is happening is that there is a bureaucracy within the STATE government that is using a private company to do a survey (where they collect DNA and Blood) to find out how many people are driving under the influence of Rx drugs, illegal drugs, and booze. According to the Lt. they are NOT allowed to ask for any personal information from the people who decide to participate in the survey. My though was, why would you have to when the car has a license plate. Any way this is done every 5 years. And the private corporation who does the survey has to ask permission of the Sheriff's office to do the survey in that county. This year both Bibb and St. Clair decided to participate. But, according to the Lt., St. Clair will NEVER participate again because of all the grief they have received over it. Another question I have is; how good is information that is only collected every 5 years? And what kind of program is slated to be put into place because of the information collected? When I worked in the medical field, my proctor said that doing test when you don't do any thing with the test results is stupid. You might as well not do the tests and save everyone's time and money. Seems as if this program (which has been in effect for at least 10 years) falls under that premise. BTW Tommy, if you saw a Homeland Security Vehicle, I don't know what that was about because they said that no Homeland Security people were involved in the above program. AND it was all completely voluntary.

More to the point: what good are these results anyway? Who in their right mind would consent to such a thing if they were hopped up or loaded? That's like asking a church congregation to stand up and shout if you've committed a mortal sin in the last 24 hours. The silence would be deafening.
What idiot comes up with crap like this?

You're right Jerry. It's complete nonsense. What's really pissing me off is that we THE TAX PAYERS are footing the bill. We already have laws against driving under the influence of..........(you fill in the blank) What more do we need? It rather reminds me of the police in England. Unarmed, they yell; police! halt! If you don't halt..... I'll yell halt again. As you said, you'd have to be pretty well gone to volunteer your DNA or blood if you're under the influence.

Well, another dirty little secret just came out....for me at least. I'm sure most people won't know or care. Was talking with a friend up in DSM who happens to have a hangar and small plane at the DSM In'tl Airport. Our conversation was interrupted by the roar of the Iowa National Guard fighters taking off. I used to love to watch them when I flew up there. He made mention that this was the last time we'd hear them because they were being shut down (the fighters that is) They were going to replaced by DRONES. Not only were the fighters going away, but so were the people who supported them. My friend said the word was that about 300 people in the Guard would have to transfer, retire, or just plain lose their jobs. Sioux City would keep a few airplanes but for the most part it would be drones. This to me was shocking. Why would drones be flying out of Iowa? They are long range for sure, but also wouldn't Iowa be a perfectly located place to fly drones over the U.S.? Who decided that the fighters would be replaced by drones? And WHO decides what will be done with them? So forget that the drone program is being ramped down. Doesn't sound like it to me.
