My ex wife, Linda and her husband Chris are visiting relatives in Kansas. They let their daughter, Leslie stay at their house to keep an eye on it while they were gone and to feed the dogs. Linda asked the sheriff's department to help keep an eye on Leslie while they were gone. yesterday the sheriff's department came by and accidentally ran over their lab. Lady's pelvis and legs were crushed and she had to be put to sleep. Unbelievable!!! These are supposed to be PROFESSIONAL experts when it comes to driving vehicles. I would post a video of Lady playing with the water sprinkler in the front yard but it's on facebook and I can't transfer it here...she was such a fun dog...and a good friend.

BTW Tommy, don't count on cops being good drivers. The first day my son was on patrol (after being trained by the police department in driving) he had the door taken off of his patrol car because he opened it into the traffic lane and some lady (who was going too fast) couldn't stop and just took it off. Thank goodness he hadn't gotten out of the car or she would have gotten him. This is the son who destroyed three of my cars when he was young. He also, when ending one shift, managed to back his POV out of his parking space, in the police garage, right in to his own patrol car. Fortunately, with practice and maturity he's a good driver now. But sometimes it just takes time for some people to learn the ART of driving. Poor #3 son never stops getting teased for his less than wonderful driving record of the past.
