Yesterday I tried a fairly new place in an old location. It's called Panos Italian Grille, located on a low hilltop to the southeast of the intersection of US78 and AL77 in Lincoln, AL.
I got a lunch lasagna for $5.95 that was as good as I've ever eaten anywhere. The people are friendly, too. The whole menu had very reasonable prices, with beer and wine available.
I'll be going back to try some of their other dishes.

I'm trying to picture this in my head. Is that the old western type restaurant up on the hill?

Yep. Last place I recall being there was something like Country Kitchen or whatever. Even now, the Panos sign is almost impossible to see from the road, but they have a nice crowd anyway. That's the mark of a good place; word of mouth advertising and return business.

We ventured out to Odenville last night and tried a new place (or new to me, not sure how long it's been there), called The Daily Bread. It was pretty good. We'll probably go back. Portions are huge. Not sure how they can afford to keep that up.

Max, I had a totally different experience at DB. My lasagna was soupy, and cold in the middle. To be fair, they did knock off 50% since only about half of it was cold, and I did eat the whole thing because I was in a hurry and very hungry.

Is the Daily Bread, the one that was closed on Saturday the day we stopped for lunch?

Eaten at the Daily Bread several times, and ordered calzones for take out. The calzones were huge, but because there was so much stuff in them, they tended to get soggy on the bottom. But, I put in in the oven, bottom side up, and that seemed to help. I hope they stick around, since not to many restaurants left in Odenville. Gulf seafood closed, and there is still Charlie's BBQ, but not much else.

Camp's is good if you can handle a little cigarette smoke. Jiff's makes a great hamburger. Charlie's BBQ is about as good as any.

We ate some of Charlie's takeout not long ago and really enjoyed it. I was surprised! There is always Jack's

Well we went to the new Mexican restaurant, Mi Casita, next to the Pig in Odenville last Friday night. I judge a Mexican restaurant on their salsa and chips and theirs was really good. Houston and I got tacos and Josh got a Steak Taco salad. The crispy tacos are really good but the shells are different like they are homemade not a store bought food supply brand. While it was all very very scrumptious...at 230 on Saturday morning, Houston and I were both in the bathrooms throwing up. I don't know if it was the hamburger meat or because we had colds and were coughing. Didn't taste near as good the second time. And yes this is the same people that own the one in Pell City and Ashville. Josh asked the guy at the register who was the owner and he said "Yeah but I won't make any profit if I can't get a liquor license." I do like the Daily Bread though. They have great pizza and I like their calzones too though they do have a lot of juice in them. I mainly like it because they have a salad bar. The owner, Joel, is one my anesthesiologists at work's brother. And his wife Janet is the preschool teacher at OES. Very nice couple and all the employees are very friendly.
