Let's not forget that tomorrow is Pearl Harbor Day. I just took a look at the forecast, and there will definitely be a Nip in the air.

It will be a day of many ceremonies in Hawaii. Punchbowl Cemetery and the Arizona Memorial will be the largest. It's a sad day but also a proud one because we came back from such a loss to win the war. In years past there were many veterans at all of the ceremonies. But as the years have past and claimed them one by one there are fewer and fewer able to make it out to the Islands. As the sound of TAPS echoes over the waters of Pearl Harbor, and the flowers float around the Memorial one is always reminded of how freedom is won at a great price.

I flipped the tv on while I was eating breakfast and started watching "From Here to Eternity." There are a bunch of great movies on TCM today.

If you do the math, an 18 year old swabbie at Pearl harbor would be 86 today--God Bless all of those men and women who served our country when we needed them.

To echo Sara, God Bless America and all those men who fought in this war and those men and women at home who supported them. As has been said many times, they are the Greatest Generation. We are losing them at the rate of thousands a day and our generation is doing a good job of selling out all the great things they did.

So true, we a few left in our church and we honor them every day, but always special honors to them on the patriotic holidays.
