Somehow I managed to lose a 25 cal copy of the Baby Browning automatic. I have carried it in a change purse in my hip pocket for about 15 years. Noticed it gone about three weeks ago and have searched every place possible including going through much garbage. It is in a blue womans change purse or wallet. It is reported and listed so cannot be sold. Clip is loaded but nothing in the chamber.

Very wise and thoughtful, not having a round in the chamber. If there's a fire that bullet can self-ignite, killing a fireman or anyone else within a mile. Those in the magazine will merely cook off and pop, but without a barrel to build up pressure they will cause almost no damage. I don't carry a chambered round in any of mine, including revolvers.

Hope you find it. I know I went crazy looking for my pistol when I couldn't find it where I usually keep it. Heaved a great sigh of relief when it was found.

Hiram, have you reported this loss to the police? Might be a good idea in case somebody else finds it first.

Yep went to a few fires with ammo going off, not good. Also I am left handed and do not like the "lock and cock" feature of many automatics. I like my knee caps just as they are. I always carry with the chamber empty and the pin spring unloaded. Had a friend that dropped a revolver and near killed himself. As a teen I had a 22 shell go off and cut my ear, never forgot that. A shell was in a box of bolts.
