It doesn't take a genius to know that Americans are fed up with all of the lying, cheating, and crooked politics in Washington. They are angry at both Democraps and Republicans because both parties are a mess and care more about retaining their grip on the nation than the nation itself. A recent poll said that 36% of people said they would join a third party (The Tea Party?) And many are speculating that Sarah Palin would be a good person to lead the party. Reporters are saying all that would do would be to get Obama elected to a 2nd term. Personally, I think they are right. As popular a man and President as Teddy Roosevelt couldn't pull that off with The Bull Moose Party. He lost his bid for another term as President. So what do you think? While I'd love to see another serious party I'm afraid it would lead to a 2nd term for Obama and that is something I really don't think this country can recover from.

I don't think it's a good thing to do. We need to stand strong and clean up both Republican and Democratic problems. The weak and corrupt need to be ousted.

Gee Gloria, would that leave very many people in either party? ;D Probably not Chris, but that might not be a bad thing.

Chris, I saw that too and it really hit me like a ton of bricks. Yes we have problems with this two party system and I'm 100% for the Tea Parties. However, we could be shooting ourselves in the foot. We in the tea party movement really need to study this situation because the last thing we need to do is cause Obama to win another term by default. Tommy

Let me explain further. I think a third party....say "the Tea Party" would probably draw only a few Democrats because they are in most part united in "the government owes me" mentality. They are the "sheeple". The Republicans on the other hand are varied in their ideas of how the government should be run. The Tea Party party (is that grammatically correct?) would most likely split the Republicans into two groups and likewise with the Independants. So you end up with 65% of the people who are totally against what the Democrats want to do yet the Democrats win the election with only 35%. It's a catch-22. Tommy

People are just flat tired of the nonsense. It is like the pendulum has swung from one end to the other. People wanted it to stop in the middle. But 'change' wouldn't allow that.

After watching Glenn Beck and listening to more people on this issue, I think I'm starting to feel a little better. The Tea Party movement isn't really trying to start another party. They are more concerned with backing those candidates with conservative values and not this Progressive agenda that's being shoved down our throats by this current administration. As Pat Caddel, former Carter advisor, put it in a warning to the Democrats. The people are more angry than I've ever seen them in history and they are coming after YOU in 2010. Tommy

New York has the Conservative Party and I have been expecting it to go National. It seems to be strong in their areas. The name alone would make it a possibility.

I keep wondering why the people in Congress don't get it. Obama is taking over THEIR job. If they don't grow a pair it will be a ONE, executive, branch running the country. We have the executive, the legislative, and the judicial because that's what makes checks and balances work. But right now the executive is calling all the shots and the legislative branch is just falling in line like some sheep. There have be PLENTY of violations of the Constitution and you'd think someone in the legislative branch would point that out. But again, they just follow Obama as if God himself had anointed him to be the chosen one.

CBK, you're right about the fact that they have done a lot of things that go against the constitution. As soon as these laws and mandates become effective, I think you will see a massive number of lawsuits. Tommy

The business of government is alive and well, like it usually is when things are tough for everyone else. I seriously doubt that the trust-busters will ever bust themselves, and nobody else is big enough to do it to them.
Who, the voters? Dream on, Civics 101. Wake up and smell the coffee.
