All very lovely Tommy. If I were still a working person, instead of being "retarded" I'd buy one....I think the grist mill.

I've seen Tommy's work hanging in the photo gallery at Pell City Library. It's wonderful stuff; these photos cannot do it justice. Considering the talent represented and the work that went into them, these prices are a steal.

I was talking to CBK this morning and I realized that I should be doing more paintings so I got out an empty canvas and my oils and brushes and started a new painting. I've been wanting to do some still lifes in a dark motif with glass and metal shining through the darkness. Plus this will give me something to do during these cold wet days. Thanks Jerry for the kind words...it's something I love doing. Tommy

wow wish I had money for stuff like that. I will definitely keep you in mind, for future reference. My favorite is also the grist mill. Very nice, indeed.

Tommy (or any other artists here), you are welcome to a CD copy of my stock images to print out and use as models. thanks Jerry, you have some phenominal photos that would look great in oils. Here's a photo of what I started yesterday...the photo isn't easy to get with a dark painting and wet oil paint. Attachments:

This is going to be another great one. I stand in awe of those who can take a blank canvas and create objects with depth and color. Anything I did along those lines would look like something from high school Mechanical Drawing class.
Thanks for the kind words on my pictures. I'm in the process of assembling hundreds of them into organized categories to be used as art subjects. I may even scan some old color slides for this project that I once used as stock images.

Some of Tommy' works are even more striking while still in progress. Tommy, do you still have that .jpg of the girl on the waterfront?
The local artist Art Bacon always leaves his paintings unfinished near the bottom. It's like a trademark.

Yep, that's the one, but I was hoping for the unfinished version.

that mushroom cloud is taking a different shape. Since the oil paint is still wet it causes little specks of light in the photo. the bowl and palmogranite is still a work in progress. I laid in the basic colors of the palmogranite and when the paint dries just a little more I can work with the shading and highlights. Also, I have to wait for the bowl to dry some more before I can add the pure white highlights that will give it a brighter look. This is a lot of fun... Tommy Attachments:
