In getting their 60 votes in the Senate our esteemed gentlemen of that august body showed just what crooks they are. The bill was not voted on it's merits to the country, but along party lines and on bribery. I doubt that ANY of the Senators voting had read the whole package. How could they? There wasn't enough time to do so. So the Republicans voted NAY because they were Republicans. And the Democrats voted YEA because they were Democrats and because the holdouts got bribes for their states. And good old Harry Reid made fun of Senators who didn't ask for favors for their states. Fortunately, most children won't be paying much attention to this whole mess. Because if they were they'd get a lovely example of how to buy someone. How to duck your responsibility in your job. And how to be a crook. The Democrats got their majority in Congress by the support of women, Latinos, unions, & liberals, and they sold out each and everyone of those groups. Now I don't particularly support the things that led these groups to vote for the Democrats. I don't support abortion as a means of birth control but it is the law of the land that a woman is free to choose. So to get votes the Democrats nixed tax payers money paying for abortions. I don't support illegals being in this country, much less being able to buy into public health care, but a lot of their fellow countrymen who have become citizens and are able to vote, do. So the Democrats made sure there was language that was in the bill to prevent this from happening. I'm not a big fan of exorbitant union goodies that wreck the economy of the nation. But the unions got wonderful health care packages and now find that those packages will be taxed. And liberals wanted a one payer system and find that they won't be getting it. This is all how the Democrats pay back their supporters. It would sure make me sit up and take notice if I had voted Democratic because of those issues. Of course the Republican lost the majority because they didn't pay attention to the promises that they had made to their supporters. So both parties stink! I guess the Founding Fathers foresaw all of this and that is why they didn't support parties. Too bad they didn't vote to make them illegal. If you or I had run a business on the same principles that the Senate and House run lawmaking we'd be put in jail. Just another example of: DO AS I SAY; NOT AS I DO! These people should be ashamed of themselves but will, instead, go home and try to be reelected on these actions.

Chris, I agree with what you say. I can't express how disgusted I am. If the people of Nevada re-elect Harry Reid everyone in the country should boycott Las Vegas and let the state die a slow death. I know Reid is not the only one who should be thrown out of office but he makes me sick when I see his sleazy face and I'm tired of being sick. I think we need to put new people in all the slots -Democrap and Republican.

Even CNN is making a big deal out of all of the bribes that went in to making this thing pass the Senate. And some of the bribes might not even be legal because it's in the Constitution that one state can NOT be treated differently from the others. So if Nebraska doesn't have to pay for the increase in Medicaid that would put more of a burden on the other states. I can see this thing clogging up the court system for years. What a MESS!
VOTE 'EM ALL OUT !!

We have a ton of people from California living here that escaped California. BUT, want things like they were there. Most of the service people here in Vegas are Democrats (lost sheep).

There are those who feel we will lose something valuable if we vote them all out. If so, these old veterans will surely run again in the near future and we can vote them back in if the alternative proves worse. But even then, they will realize that their jobs can go away if they piss off enough people or do nothing and let bad things happen.
It's definitely time to shake the tree and get rid of rotten fruit.

Jerry, I couldn't agree more. And for those Republicans who stand up there and say that they fought against the Democrats I have this to say: YOU FAILED! When someone fails to do his job he should be fired. As far as the Democraps go, well either they are naive, dumb, or crooked. Any of those, disqualifies them for Congress!
SEND 'EM ALL HOME!
P.S. J.B. you've got a way with words. Get out there and fight to have Reid sent home. He's a menace to America. I intend to contribute to his opponent come reelection time. I know, I'm not from Nevada, but I'm an American and this man is awful!

I can't vote against Shelby and Sessions because I believe they are doing a good job. The others I can and will vote against all other incumbents and all democrats.

Gloria, being likable doesn't mean that a person is effective. They failed in their job which was to, first and foremost, protect and defend the constitution of the United States. They were part of the Republican administration that got people so angry that they went out and voted in all of these idiots. If you can't do your job then you deserve to be fired IMO. It doesn't matter if you are nice and trying to do your job. Give them a pat on the head, a sincere thanks for their efforts, and send 'em home. Try someone else! After all, the only thing a new guy can do is fail, and we already have that!

CBK, while I agree with the theory somewhat, I don't think we should throw the baby out with the bathwater so to speak. We need to carefully weed through those few who have been fighting against the corruption. I've been watching Jeff Sessions and he's one of the few good guys. On the other hand, Senator Shelby just hurt us with some pork of his own...I would not vote for him if there's someone else with conservative views to oppose him. As far as Senator Spencer Bachus, I need to do some more research....I haven't heard anything from him lately.

I am voting for them because I think they have done what they feel is best for the State of Alabama and the people they serve. I think Tommy's post about Sessions and the accounting error and many other things that they have accomplished prove that.

I'm sorry that I can't agree with you my friends. I think they all need to go. That is the only thing that will impress these people. I don't care if they have been trying to do what is right. They have failed. When you fail, you go, in my book. These folks stay too long as it is. They get to feel as if it's THEIR government instead of OUR government. Six years is enough for any elected official. If he can't get it done in six years he'll never get it done.

If someone who is trying fails, then you are saying they get no second chances. I am not perfect and I don't know where I would be if I hadn't had people in my life to encourage me to try again. I think there are many politicians who don't deserve another chance, just like I think there are those who do.

We elect these people because they're supposed to know what they are doing. Over the years they've all had any number of second chances, and each time the country gets weaker as a result, not stronger.

We all have our opinions. The great thing is that we live in a free country where we can each vote our conscience. In the end we will know who voted for this health care bill and those who voted against it.
