We're having a neighborhood get together. Belinda cooked the turkey...my specialty is the giblet gravy. Our neighbors are cooking the dressing, mashed taters, sweet potato casserole, green bean casserole, (yuck) and pies and stuff. We're about to meet at Olivia's house for dinner. I hope everyone else is having as great a day as we're having. Tommy

We had both sets of inlaws over, his & mine. Most of our kids showed up too. We were missing one, but he had an errand to run that made me proud to be his mama. His Great Grandma on his dad's side (my ex husband's) had her legs amputed today. Out of control diabetes, due to poor nursing home care. Gage's dad & grandad are in Virginia working, and there was no one to sit with Grandma Evie, so he is in Atlanta right now, being the man of the family.

spent last evening with my side of the family, but without my wife Brenda--she hurt her back pretty bad last week, and couldn't make the trip.
Some of her family came over today, but kept it low key--Brenda's mom lives with us, and just got out of the hospital. All in all. plenty to be thankful for

My family was at my son's house. We had a lovely meal and a very pleasant day. The grandchildren came over at 6:00 PM and spent the night. I am up because the little one woke up wanting spaghetti around 2:30. I gave her a piece of toast and she is resting again. We are decorating the tree and putting up other decorations outside later. Then I am sending the rug rat Alabama fans home before the game starts. War Eagle!

Had a lovely Thanksgiving out in the country. Even more country than I live in. Wonderful people, food, and conversation. The family is so nice and Ms. Mimi is 102 years young. Hope she's around for next year.

As you already heard, Jerry came down for our lunchtime meal. His huMMus was real good, we finished it off today! He brought the tater gun and let David (age12) shoot it for the first time. For some reason it seems the tater gun and Thanksgiving have become tradition! The married kids and grandbaby came for supper and we started round two of eating. It was good to see my grown boys having a good time together. Although they both live close by, they work opposite shifts and have very busy lives. We had out of town company all day today, and several kids spending the night with David. I sure was glad I cooked so much

I've juz recovered enough from all the company to even sit down for a few minutes.
Our thanksgiving was almost perfect except for one problem family member...lol. No, it wasn't me. That family member has been sent packing and I now know what the song "Thank God and Greyhound, she's gone" means. ;D
All in all we had two rounds of thanksgiving. One on the traditional Thanksgiving day (20 people here at my house), and another yesterday for the ones from out of state that couldn't get here until the weekend (over 40). Fortunately this one was at Lisa and Rob's, not here.
We are all stuffed, too much food, lots of football rivalry, lots of good natured ribbing and yelling at the two televisions, lots of Rook (2 tables), basketball and games for the kids, and lots of laughter and fun way up into both nights because nobody wanted to go home. JC and I left about midnight last night and those still there were still going strong.
I did think about all of you and and hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving too.
BTW: Tommy, Olivia is just the prettiest little girl. That is a great picture of her.

Jerry once brought the tater gun to a poker game, and demonstrated it in the house firing a tissue instead of a vegetable. I had the misfortune of having a burning kleenex wad go flying right by my head.
