And the basic tenant of the religion is to convert, or to kill. These are the people we want as neighbors? I strongly support the banning of ALL Muslim immigration to this country. Not because I want to tell people what religion to believe in but because I want to protect my life and the lives of the people I love. These are dangerous people. Muslims who don't believe in killing those who will not convert are muslims in name only and are not following the teachings of their religion. How do we tell one from the other? We can't. Therefore, keep more from coming here. We have more than we need already. There is a GREAT difference between religious tolerance and stupidity. I'm not stupid. Are you?

Hey, I haven't tried to kill you yet have I? ;D Or were you referring to the crusades? Aw contrary, dear lady; Judaism is one of the most peaceful faiths we have these days. If someone doesn't want to belong or even learn about the religion, most Jews could care less. As for the Crusades, yeah; exactly. And also post-Columbian North & South America and Hawaii.

You know Gloria, I guess every religion has killed in the name of God at one time or another. But the difference, as you pointed out, is in the very nature of the religion....or cult as I term the Muslims. In WWII we thought the Germans were Godless and asked the good Lord to give us victory over them. The irony is that both Germany and the U.S. were, supposedly, Christian nations. I think people just get afraid, or angry and start wars. But the Muslims sincerely believe that God commands them to kill those who will not worship as they do. That to me is not only intolerant but just plain stupid. God doesn't need puny people to do his work for Him. If He wanted people killed because they didn't pray with their butt sticking up in the air He could do it Himself. And have you noticed that the most intolerant people are the most uneducated ones? Who have more children than they can possibly raise with a reasonable level of comfort and education? They are also the most "religious". Religion is fine with me. Go to church and pray all you wish. But don't let it be a crutch for stupid, evil, behavior.

The irony is that both Germany and the U.S. were, supposedly, Christian nations. Of course they were. And the pope really kissed up to Hitler so he would make Catholicism the official world religion if he won. I wonder if the Japs gave this any thought before they joined the Axis. Ah, you've touched on the truth about organized faith, Chris. Those with the least brains of their own are usually the most fervent about following their guru or imam or emperor or prophet, be it Jimmy Jones, Ayatollah Khomeini, the pope, Al Gore, or Obama. It's far easier to gain instant intellect and power by simply agreeing with and sucking up to someone who professes they already have it, especially if he already has a large following. It has certainly worked well for Hitler and a host of other misleaders, both clerical and secular. I doubt that absolutely all Muslims want to go around killing us infidels, but it's what their faith PROFESSES, therefore it's a good way to keep from getting kicked out of the gang and losing power over others that would not exist otherwise. Besides, given an official holy time-out or governmental mandate to do so, a large percentage of people will gladly kill one another. It's in our nature, whether we admit it or not. There's no denying that it has been this way since before recorded history. Those who are level-headed and intelligent enough to devise ways of preying on people's inner fears and superstitions will always have a huge edge when it comes to controlling what they do and whom they do it for. That's why such things can go on century after century; because others buy into the plan and become an extension of the original design. There's never a shortage of insecure, narrow-minded populace for them to exploit for power and profit.

Thanks j.b. I guess Jerry and I are rebels (with a cause) of sorts. Really, I just wish folks would live and let live. I don't want to convert, rule, or kill anyone. But I get tired of others trying to do those very things.

I think people just get afraid, or angry and start wars. Or they are insane, as was the case with Adolph. My German ancestors were Christians.

Without followers, an insane man is just another nut case. He had some ideas they liked, or nobody would have ever heard of him.
